FLANC Releases Re-start Plan

In preparation of the upcoming school year, FLANC has created a comprehensive re-start plan to serve as a resource for parents. We're in this together - learn how you can do your part.
During this challenging and uncertain time, FLANC has consulted with medical and sanitation professionals to ensure we're doing our part to protect students, teachers, administrators, and staff from the dangerous spread of COVID-19. Upon school closure in March 2020, while other schools struggled to find their footing, Focus immediately galvanized our teachers and staff to facilitate online learning curriculum to meet the needs of our unique population of students and ensure that they didn't risk falling far behind.
We have taken lessons learned from that time and pivoted to create our "Re-start Plan." Not only does our plan align with the current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines; state and local health and safety laws, rules, and regulations with which FLANC must comply, but we have also collaborated with medical and sanitation subject matter experts. This includes training and educating all administrators, teachers, and staff on hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette/use of masks, recognizing COVID-19 symptoms, knowing when they (and their students) should stay home and when to return to school, and maintaining a healthy environment (including a schedule for increased, routine cleaning and disinfection).
Additionally, we have significantly increased our hygiene supplies, modified layouts (seating and desks), will serve meals in classrooms instead of cafeteria, and are currently re-evaluating our ventilation system.
